Now in our 17th year, the Voucher/Scrip program is a yearlong HSA fundraiser. However, unlike other fundraisers, participating in the Voucher/Scrip program doesn't cost you anything extra and you get exactly what you need. Gift cards to area stores are purchased and used at face-value. For each gift card you purchase, a small percentage of the total cost is donated to ICS and a percentage is returned as credit to you and may be applied to your tuition or other fees that are due. The donation is made by the store itself and you are able to spend the full amount of the purchased card. By taking a few minutes to plan ahead, you can reduce your tuition while helping ICS.
Not sure how the program works? Here are four easy steps to get you started:
- Fill out a voucher or scrip form to your favorite store(s) and attach your check. You should have received forms in a yellow "Voucher/Scrip Orders Only" envelope in early September. If you can't find your envelope, you can download the forms using the links above. Please be careful in filling out the form to avoid errors. Remember to make checks to SCRIP for retail and grocery store.
- Place the form(s) and your check(s) in your family's "Voucher/Scrip Orders Only" envelope and send it to school with your child. If you have lost your envelope, a regular envelope will work just as well - just be sure to mark it "Voucher/Scrip Orders" and include your child's name and room number.
- Orders are filled Wednesday and Friday mornings and will be sent home on those days.
- If you prefer to pick up the vouchers yourself or have them sent home with a different sibling, please attach a note telling us so. If you do not receive your order back by the next Voucher order day or there is a problem with your order, please call Joanna Drabich at 908 904-0726 or Sharon Colucci 732 302-1522. Remind your child vouchers are like cash, there is no way to trace them if they are lost!
If you spend $100 each week in the grocery store, this adds up to $5,200 per year. Our grocery store cards return a total of 5% to ICS (3% to the school; 2% as credit to you). This means that over the course of the year, you can earn over $100 in tuition credits just for eating! In addition, ICS will receive $156. If all 300 school families did this, ICS would receive $46,800! Now think of all the other purchases you can make using the Voucher/Scrip program ---gas, clothing, restaurants, books, you name it! It only takes a few minutes to fill out the form. If you are planning to make these purchases anyway, why not help ICS in the process?
