Care, cleanliness and neatness in regard to dress and appearance are required of all students. Personal hygiene, which results in cleanliness of body and apparel, should be a cooperative effort between child and parent. Hairstyles for both boys and girls should be kept neat and clean. Fad hair cuts or distracting hairstyles are not permitted. The principal will determine the appropriateness of hairstyles.
Boys: Grades K to 8
- Regulation dark blue dress trousers
- Regulation short or long sleeve white shirt or white turtleneck with ICS insignia
- Regulation navy blue cardigan with monogram mandatory for Grades K-4
- Regulation navy blue V-neck sweater with monogram or regulation navy blue sleeveless vest with monogram mandatory for Grades 5-8
- Navy blue or white socks (socks must be at least three inches above the ankle.)
- No sports socks.
- Belt is mandatory
- Solid black tie shoe - no design - no ankle type - no high tops
- Any kind of boot, thick-soled shoes or sneakers may not be worn in school
Girls: Grades K to 4
- Regulation jumper - length must be to the knee
- Optional regulation navy blue slacks
- Regulation white short or long sleeve blouse or white turtleneck with ICS insignia
- Regulation navy blue cardigan with monogram mandatory
- Navy blue knee socks or tights. Nylons are not permitted
- Navy blue or black tie oxford or buckle shoes
- Any kind of boot, thick-soled shoes, sneakers or slip-ons may not be worn
Girls: Grades 5-8
- Regulation navy skort - length must be just above the knee
- Optional regulation navy blue slacks
- Regulation white short or long sleeve banded bottom shirt with ICS insignia
- Regulation navy blue V-neck sweater with monogram or regulation navy blue sleeveless vest with monogram mandatory
- Navy blue tights. Nylons are not permitted
- Navy blue or black tie oxford or buckle shoes
- Any kind of boot, thick-soled shoes, sneakers or slip-ons may not be worn
Optional Summer Uniform
(May be worn from first day of school until October 15; April 15 until the end of the year)
Boys: Grades K-8
- Regulation white polo shirt with ICS insignia
- Regulation navy blue walking shorts
- Navy blue or white socks
- Socks must be at least three inches above the ankle. No sports socks
Girls: Grades K-8
- Regulation white short sleeve banded bottom shirt with ICS insignia
- Regulation navy blue walking shorts
- Navy blue knee socks
Gym Uniform
Boys and Girls: Grades Pre-K-8
- Regulation navy blue sweat suit with ICS insignia (worn in winter months)
- Regulation navy blue mesh shorts and gray tee shirt (worn during time of summer uniform)
- White tie sneakers
- White socks
- Socks must be at least three inches above the ankle. No sports socks
- Worn to school on gym day
- The only writing permitted on any gym clothes is the ICS insignia
Pre-K students, both boys and girls, wear the regulation gym uniform (as outlined above) as their daily school uniform,
During the winter months, teachers may allow students to remove sweaters if temperatures so warrant, however, only school sweaters may be worn and must be worn to Mass and official school activities.
Hair is to be neat and the child's natural color. Boys' hair may not touch the collar.
No make-up, including nail polish, or jewelry may be worn to school. The only exceptions are a watch and small religious medal. Girls may wear small post earrings (no hoops), one in each ear lobe. Boys are not permitted to wear earrings.
Students are expected to wear their school uniform properly, with modesty and pride.
