The Immaculata High School Advisory Council assists the Pastor and Principal in fulfilling Immaculata's statement of mission and provides them advice on issues concerning school enrollment, finance, facilities, administrative matters and legal matters. Collectively, the pastor, principal, diocesan officials and the Advisory Council work together to continually assess the school's strengths and weaknesses and to develop suggestions, policies and programs to assist in the governance of the school. The Council recommends policies and procedures to the administration that support the common goal of advancing the school's strategic plan.
The Advisory Council is responsible for creating a Strategic Plan for Immaculata consistent with the guidelines of the Diocese of Metuchen Office of Schools. In September 2009, the Council submitted a multi-year strategic plan for the school to the Diocese, covering plans to ensure sufficient finances, manage the physical plant, ensure a vibrant Catholic identity and maintain optimal enrollment levels.
The Council is composed of lay persons dedicated to Immaculata, including alumni, parents of students and parents of alumni, community members and faculty. Staff members from the business office, development and admissions support the work of the Council.
Three standing committees -- Finance, Resources and Development -- work between monthly Council meetings to advance the goals of the school and report monthly to the full Council. In addition, ad hoc committees may be formed, and will include lay persons not affiliated with the Council, to address specific topics of interest.
If you have questions regarding the Advisory Council, you can send an email to Council President Peter Cirignano.
