Application Procedure for 8th graders
Applications are now available for 8th graders wishing to apply to the Immaculata High School Class of 2016, who will begin their course of study in September 2012. Applications can be obtained in any of the following ways:
- If attending a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Metuchen, applications will be distributed through the school. Please contact your school principal or 8th grade teacher for the date of distribution. Identify Immaculata as your 'First Choice School.'
- If attending a public middle school, private school, or out-of diocese Catholic elementary school, you may request an application by contacting the Immaculata High School Office of Admissions at 908-722-0200, ext. 218.
- You may download and print a copy of the application by clicking here. Important: If you plan to apply to more than one diocesan high school, you must print one application for each high school to which you plan to apply. Please also download and print this letter from the Office of Schools for the Diocese of Metuchen.
The top portion of the application must be completed by the student's parent or guardian. The application is then submitted to your principal or guidance counselor, who will forward the completed application, along with the academic transcript, to the Office of Admissions at Immaculata.
HSPT Entrance Exam
All 8th grade students applying for freshman admission to Immaculata High School must take the HSPT entrance exam. The exam will be given on the following dates:
Wednesday, May 23, 2012 (9:00 AM)
A completed application must be on file with the Admissions Office for any student wishing to take the exam on the above dates. Additionally, parents of students with an active IEP/ISP that provides for extended time must notify the Admissions Office prior to the testing date so that proper accommodations may be made.
As admission is competitive, students are strongly encouraged to identify Immaculata as their first choice school. (Please note: 'First Choice School' only takes into consideration the three high schools participating in the diocesan exam. It does not include public schools, independent schools, and other Catholic high schools.)
Application Procedure for Transfer Students
Transfer students are admitted in September and at the start of the second semester in January. To be considered for transfer admission, prospective transfer students will need to submit a completed transfer application, a completed recommendation form, and a transcript of high school grades. The Transfer Application and Recommendation Form may be downloaded by clicking on the links below.
The Transfer Application is to be completed by the student and returned directly to Immaculata High School. The Recommendation Form is to be completed by the the student's Guidance Counselor and returned, along with a transcript of high school grades, directly to Immaculata.
Following receipt of these materials, prospective students and parents will be invited to school for an on-site interview. A final decision on acceptance will be made after all materials are reviewed.
