“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with first fruits of all your produce; Then will your barns be filled with grain, with new wine your vats will overflow.” (Proverbs 3: 9-10)
The bible speaks of tithing many times. Tithing is God’s plan for giving. Tithing means giving five percent (5%) of your income to the church in support of its mission and five percent (5%) to other charities. In gratitude to God for His many blessings, we should offer the “first fruits” as the book of Proverbs tells us.
Jesus stated the fundamental truth of tithing when He said “give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” (Luke 6: 38-39)
The best way you can partner with our church is to attend mass weekly and make generous pre-planned contributions in thanksgiving to God. We encourage parishioners to use the contribution envelopes. We also accept contributions via the Internet. Go to https://www.faithdirect.net/churchlogin.cfm. If you have an existing account, login using your exisiting user ID and password. If you are a first-time user of our new on-line giving program, sign up for a new account and complete your initial account registration to begin making your contributions on-line. The Faith Direct website gives you the ability to set up an automatic debit from your checking account or credit card. This is a convenient, safe, and easy way to support our church.
Thank you to all our faithful parishioners who give consistently to our mission. If you have any questions call the Parish Office at 908-725-1112 or speak to Msgr. Brennan.
